Assignment

SO till DO+

The historic Koloniehuis, conceived by architects P. Vorsink and Wormser in 1912 and nestled in the coastal beauty of Bergen aan Zee, is on the cusp of a transformative restoration and extension project. Our commitment to preserving its legacy and embracing the future is unwavering.

The Koloniehuis will be lovingly restored, with every original detail honored, ensuring its historical essence remains intact. Simultaneously, a contemporary extension in a calming beige color, reminiscent of the dunes, will grace both the Koloniehuis and Speelhuis.

Koloniehuis’s extension will feature a majestic marble pavilion, exuding timeless elegance, while the Speelhuis will be adorned with the modern sophistication of Petersen Cover stone.

However, this project goes beyond aesthetics; it embodies sustainability and future-proof design. From eco-friendly materials to energy-efficient systems, it is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. In the dunes of Bergen aan Zee, this housing project not only pays homage to the past but also stands as a symbol of responsible architecture, where heritage preservation and sustainable living seamlessly coexist.
